The first educational program entitled Advanced Education Program in Clinical Neurophysiology (AEPCN) endorsed by the Asian-Oceania Chapter of International Federation of Clinical Neurophysiology was held at the Grand Hi-Lai Hotel in Kaohsiung, Taiwan on 22nd and 23rd August 2015.

Asian and Oceanian Chapter of IFCN started from the South East Asia Liaison committee for clinical neurophysiology in 1989. At that time, committee consisted of delegates to IFCN from China, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Philippines, Thailand, and possibly Australia. Since the organization of Asian and Oceanian Chapter of the international federation of clinical neurophysiology in 1993, clinical neurophysiology societies in Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, and Taiwan join the association and nowadays AOC-IFCN has 11 affiliated member nations in the Asia and Oceania region.

AOC-IFCN plays an important role in education, research and communication between numerous societies and individuals in Asian-Oceanian area. According to IFCN statutes, AOC-IFCN encourage medical research, improve quality of medication education, design and collaborate other societies and establish the standards for clinical practice in the field of clinical neurophysiology.
